Introduction to Insight Meditation Class Series
|January 3, 2013|
|7:00 pm||to||9:00 pm|
Insight Meditation (known as vipassana in the Buddhist tradition) is a simple technique that has been practiced in Asia for over 2,500 years. Beginning with the focusing of attention on the breath, the practice concentrates and calms the mind. It allows one to see through the mind’s conditioning and thereby to live more fully present in the moment.
This series of five Thursday evening classes will introduce the practice of Insight meditation and give an overview of the Buddha’s teachings on themes such as working with mind, developing wisdom, and deepening compassion. There will be guided and silent meditations, as well as time for sharing questions and discoveries about your practice of meditation. Instructions are gradually expanded each week and practiced during the week at home.
We are excited to announce that this class, led by Senior Teacher Sally Armstrong, is also available as an “e-sangha” online class series!
