Meditative Concentration: A one-day retreat with Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi

Northeast USA

March 9, 2013
10:30 amto4:00 pm

**This retreat is cancelled due to the severe weather of a winter storm**

Acharya Shantideva begins Chapter 8 of A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life by emphasizing the importance of stabilizing one’s mind — but that is only the beginning.  He goes on to explain how craving and vagaries of daily life keep one distracted, trapped, and unable to see the true nature of reality.  In this retreat, we will discuss the short- and long-term benefits of settling the mind, along with other antidotes to the traps, like the practice of mind training (in Tibetan, lojong).

All are welcome.  Please join us for a day of teaching, meditation, and discussion on March 9 with Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi,  sponsored by the Prajnopaya Institute of Buddhist Studies.  (Rescheduled from February 9, 2013)
