A unique opportunity for experienced Dhamma practitioners to enter a supportive space of solitude and silence for 28 days of intensive Vipassana meditation practice.
The Mountain Hermitage is now taking applications for a 28-day Vipassana retreat taught by Sayadaw Vivekananda and Marcia Rose in Summer 2013. This retreat will follow a specific format based on the Mahasi approach to practice, with The Progress of Insight as its basis. We invite experienced practitioners to join us for the full month only.
Venerable Sayadaw Vivekananda is the resident teacher and abbot at Panditarama Lumbini International Vipassana Meditation Center, in Lumbini, Nepal. He has been teaching Vipassana and Brahma Vihara meditation in the tradition of the Ven Mahasi Sayadaw since 1998 in Nepal, the US, Europe, and Israel. Sayadaw Vivekananda guides meditators in a very careful, precise, and encouraging manner.
Marcia Rose is the founding and guiding teacher of the Mountain Hermitage. Marcia teaches Vipassana, Brahma Vihara, and Concentration retreats in the US and international venues. She is dedicated to offering these ancient and timeless teachings in ways that make them accessible and authentic for contemporary culture.

Sayadaw Vivekananda and Marcia will offer support to Hermitage yogis through daily Dhamma talks and individual practice interviews.
The retreat will be held at the Columbine Inn in beautiful Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico. Yogis will have exclusive use of the lodge and grounds, which provide the privacy, quiet, and sense of harmony that are most conducive to intensive practice. Space is limited to 20 yogis — applications are necessary.
Sliding Scale Fees: $2,400 (low); $2,600 (actual cost); $2,800 (benefactor)
Partial scholarship funds available — Application necessary — No fee for monastics
