Walk for Tibet in Edmonton, AB, Canada
Posted by Gaden Samten Ling Tibetan Meditation Society
On Sunday, March 10, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., students of Gaden Samten Ling Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Society in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, along with Tibetan supporters, will be marching in a “Walk for Tibet” to bring attention to the suffering of the Tibetan people. Carrying pictures of Tibetans who have self-immolated in the quest for cultural and religious freedom, we will bring attention to the sufferings of the Tibetans.
Recently, our center held a Chenresig Retreat, during which extensive prayers were made and 2,541,393 Chenresig Six-Syllable mantras were recited. The prayers and mantras were dedicated for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, for the Tibetans who have self-immolated so that they may be reborn in Chenresig’s pure land, for the freedom and well-being of all Tibetan people, and for the enlightenment of all sentient beings.
Please take a moment this March 10, Tibetan Uprising Day and Tibetan Martyrs’ Day, to join with the Tibetan people in remembering those who have sacrificed their lives in the search for Tibetan freedom.
