Buddhapalooza, a Buddha’s birthday celebration, returns to Chattanooga April 13
Buddhapalooza, a celebration of the Buddha’s birthday, is returning to Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the third year. Held at the Barking Legs Theater, Buddhapalooza III is a day of meditation, dharma talks (lectures), and performance on Saturday, April 13. The event is a fundraiser for the Zen Group of Chattanooga.
The event includes Zen meditation instruction, a talk with chanting by followers of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and another from a senior disciple from the Atlanta Zen Center. Performances include a reading of Walt Whitman’s “Carol of Words,” a reading of a poem by Norman Fischer, and performances by a “kirtan” call-and-response music group and the Atlanta-based musician and Zen student Michael Goldman.
Suggested donation is $7, though no one will be turned away if they can’t afford it. For more information, including a full schedule, click here.
