Meditative Concentration: One-Day Retreat with the Venerable Tenzin Priyadarshi

Acharya Shantideva begins Chapter 8 of A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life by emphasizing the importance of stabilizing one’s mind — but that is only the beginning. He goes on to explain how craving and the vagaries of daily life keep one distracted, trapped, and unable to see the true nature of reality. In this retreat, we will discuss the short- and long-term benefits of settling the mind, along with other antidotes to the traps, like the practice of mind training (Tib. lojong).
