Effort under way to map Buddhist historical sites across Asia
Initiated by government mapping and tourist agencies in India and Thailand, work has commenced on a comprehensive map of historical Buddhist sites across Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
“The map would not only contain Buddhist archaeological sites,” reports Asia Pacific FutureGov, “but also detailed information which tourists usually seek such as accessibility, visiting times, nearby accommodations, and relevant historical information.”
It’s estimated that the map will be completed within two years. Read the whole story here.
