The Buddha taught of a direct way to alleviate suffering and discover peace, wisdom and happiness, through cultivating the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. The Third Foundation is concerned with cultivating awareness of emotions and thoughts. We will study the text in which the Buddha describes the practice of mindfulness of the mind and give attention, in formal meditation and in daily life, to mindfulness of difficult states and with the cultivation of more awakened states.
