In this workshop with Rick Hanson, we will examine self and its release in light of Buddhism and modern brain science. We will cover Buddhist perspectives on the interconnectedness of all things; the defining characteristics of the self; the absence of these characteristics in both your experience and brain; why the self is not just “empty” but actually does not exist; and ways to reduce “self-ing” and relax the sense of self, take things less personally, and feel more at peace with the world.
