Geshe Lobsang Sherab

The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) has announced that its members are “profoundly saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Geshe Lobsang Sherab from Kopan Monastery on 25 September 2013.” Only 46 years old, Geshe Lobsang Sherab was a monk since age eleven, when he took his first vows at Kopan. He studied Buddhist philosophy for sixteen years at Sera Monastery in India and then returned to Kopan where, except for a brief period in Taiwan and Malaysia, he served as one of its principle resident teachers.
