For most of us, that would be enough for one day. But Tuesday also saw His Holiness give a lecture (“Values of Democracy and Tibet”), sit for an interview with the BBC, give a second talk called “Real Change Happens in the Heart” — at the Royal Albert Hall, no less — and more. And His Holiness has a whole second day in London today. Click here to see more photos from Tuesday at DalaiLama.com.
As Suu Kyi embarks on her new political career, a new piece of commentary by writer and historian Timothy Garton Ash—who worked with Suu Kyi’s late husband Michael Arris at Oxford University—reflects on her courage, her writing career during decades of house arrest, and her synthesis of Buddhist philosophy with Western cultural influences.

Two wonderful, inspirational people. China must know that and start to make some changes and move towards reconciliation and mutual understanding. China would be admired and respected so much more.
