Thich Nhat Hanh — who’s on the cover of the January Shambhala Sun magazine — has announced a teaching tour in the United States and Canada later this year. Thay will be giving several public talks, and leading multi-day retreats, days of mindfulness, and a peace walk from August through October.
The tour, which aims to “nourish great togetherness,” begins with two stops in Ontario, followed by programs in New York, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and California throughout the fall. Most of the programs will be held in English, though two retreats in California will be in Vietnamese. Fees for the programs range from donations to hundreds of dollars, with scholarships available for all programs. For a complete schedule and information on registering, click here.
Our January magazine includes a profile of Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village Community in France, a new teaching on creating a global ethic of compassion, understanding, and peace, and “You Don’t Need to Be a Buddhist,” a Q&A about the five mindfulness trainings — read it online in full here.
