Louis C.K.: “What the phones are taking away is the ability to just sit there. That’s being a person.”

We shared this with our Facebook friends late last week (it became one of our most “liked” statuses almost instantly), but in case you missed it, this Gawker post features a particularly insightful Conan bit from star and “comic’s comic” Louis C.K. on how smartphones are changing us — and not for the better.

C.K. is famous for his insight into the dark and the light of what makes us tick — himself, most especially — and can be brutally, hysterically honest. For more on him and other comics of merit, including Tig Notaro, Garry Shandling, the late Mike DeStefano, and more, see Rod Meade Sperry’s Shambhala Sun feature, “Wise Fools,” in the November 2013 Shambhala Sun magazine, coming to newsstands around the beginning of October.
