This week those brainy Buddhist Geeks interview Junpo Dennis Kelly, the American Rinzai Zen teacher who was once abbot of Dai Bosatsu Zendo and is now leader of a ‘Zen stripped bare and separated from its Japanese cultural identity’ movement he calls the Hollow Bones school of zen. (Robes still allowed.)
Kelly discusses his history with psychotropic drugs—including Clear Light, a form of LSD he once helped to create and distribute. He also describes how he’s combined koan practice with NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) “to help anchor spiritual realization in one’s linguistic structures.”
This is part 1 of a two-part Geek series.
