Nike claims “Zen” as inspiration for new shoe, but…

This new shoe, Nike tells us, was “inspired by the practice of meditation and the concept of Zen…. Almost every part of the shoe reflects an aspect of a tranquil Zen garden: a modified Waffle outsole made to look like stepping stones, an insole that mirrors a raked rock garden, and slightly different midsole side lengths-a juxtaposition of seriousness and playfulness.”

Perhaps Nike will also take further inspiration from Buddhism-confluent lines and do what it can to halt its involvement in the propagation of suffering.

Okay… could have been a nice green blue with maybe bown or yellow to compliment the colors of the earth and nature. Also, the cushion in the soul should be of good comfort for extreme walking up mountains or flat surface. We do walk and meditate as well.

Nothing comes between my feet and the earth. Not even a superficially conceived Zen shoe. But do we expect any more than that? Really.

I think it says something interesting about how Buddhism is viewed in the west. It's hard to imagine that Nike would make shoe inspired by the "concept" of Christianity

It's all about selling stuff you don't need. The major religion in the US is not Christianity. It's Shopping.
