RUIN, the “first Buddhist punk band,” to reunite on August 31

The summer of 2013 has been shaping up to be the Summer of Reunited Classic Punk Bands: from Black Flag to the Dickies to the Replacements to… RUIN. Okay, maybe not every punk fan has heard of RUIN — but they should have.

If you haven’t heard of RUIN, check out my interview with them from a few years back — a sample quote from founder/guitarist Glenn Wallis:”I never thought about forming a ‘Buddhist punk band.’ These three terms, Buddhist, punk, and band — just represented to me core concerns in life” — and watch the Kickstarter video that the band put together to fund their coming August 31st live date in Philadelphia. A live recording of that show will be released on DVD. (RUIN’s Kickstarter campaign has now concluded, having met and exceeded requested funds.)

And for more about RUIN’s dealings in the here and now, follow the band on Facebook, here.
